I'm a hater too. The only thing that's made the bed bearable is a 3" memory foam topper that I put on it last year. Before that it was horrible.

Oh we've also had a failed pump and failed bladder....

Heat and power consumption were our reasons too. We do alot of dry-camping & it's great not to have to worry about the power usage from lights. Cut our light usage by ~1/10.

That's what we went with. We didn't buy the whole thing. Just bought the revolution LED bulb and swapped out the old one. Runs completely cool and much brighter. Also uses ~1/10 of the power.
