I wouldn't sweat it either way. Pretty sure their license plate readers backup a failed tag scan. No penalty as long as your plates are registered on the EZ Pass site.

The new latch isn’t a key lock... just two ‘ears’ to twist. I didn’t try to open it so don’t know if they’ve got a spring loaded return or not.

Since my post a couple months back, my steering issue was fixed by my Freightliner shop. All he did was increase toe-in, if I recall it is now either +3/16” or +1/4” OVER factory spec.

With regard only to the non-opening slides part of your posting, your engine should be running when operating the slides (and jacks). This is what my dealer instructed during my PDI.
