I believe it's a component failure that needs to be isolated, the generator runs but wont stay running, my intial post was misleading, and prior to this event, it was working perfectly.

we too had a similar problem, water leaking around fresh tank which also is adjacent to electrical compartment....yikes, no luck first few times, but then one day checking all the fresh water hoses...

Yes 20 amp breaker on generator trips when the main panel is completely shut down. Replaced faulty gfci, all good there.
