New owner of View 24D

After considerable delay, our new View arrived yet just in time for us to plan a trip to Texas. In Vermont, just in time = just before the snow beings to fly. I am looking forward to the many sections on this site, hopefully one that will guide me on how to fully integrate our I Phones (and its maps) with the main computer system.

Cheers,

Congrats and welcome!

Where in Texas are you headed? It's a big state... you may have heard.

Are you asking about Bluetooth? Apple Car Play or Android Auto? What "radio" do you have - Mercedes or other brand?

Hi Creative,

Thanks for your kind response. We are on your way to Austin, where we will spend the Winter. This is a maiden voyage for our View 24D (Mercedes engine and chassis) and a built-in computer that is completely new to me.

What is behind my question is how to relate its map with the Goggle map on my iPhone. Thus far I find the Mercedes map too narrow and hard to read. I am wondering if I can displace it with either a downloaded Goggle map or by the Goggle map as its shows on the iPhone. Otherwise, it looks like I have to get a coffee cup holder insert and park my iPhone on its post. Even then can I run both maps at the same time, just muting the car's map?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

When is your expected departure date and how are you handling winterizing. I say this because a coach that wouldn't worry about overnight temps in the 20s should probably worry if it is moving at 65 mph the next morning. 65 mph produces a tremendous heat transfer that can freeze stuff that you wouldn't worry about if stationery.

When I camped in the west in November it would get down to the low 20s overnight, but I wouldn't leave the site until 10:00 AM when it warmed up above freezing.
