Does anybody have a security safe/fire box installed in their Meridian or other Winnie product?

If so where, how and who made it?

Thanks.

Doug

I have one its a steel lock box that was in the old Winne when I bought it already. It is bolted to the floor. I dont know who made it but I will look when I get the Winne home from the shop.

I don't have one installed in our MH yet, but a visit to any quality locksmith will give you tons of options. It all depends on the size you want and the amount of security you desire.

My factory installed floor safe is under an area between the bed and the closet ...the name on the top is "Stealth Safe Co, San Diego CA" ...I have no idea whether or not it is fire proof, but don't recall seeing anything that said it is. It isn't all that large. We also have a fire-proof file box we bought at Wal-Mart that holds important papers, etc. They make them in sized from pretty small up to floor safe size, and the price is very reasonable.

Thanks for the replies and information. I've seen the Wal-mart ones and will probably go with one of them that has the mounting bracket.

After all, if somebody is intent enough to break in the motorhome, a safe ain't gonna do much good. Just delay them a little bit and allow them to cause more damage ripping it out.

Chippysgt....I used the 12"x 9" x 4 (approximate size) Sentry Safe available at Home Depot. It has a couple of indications on the bottom where you can drill it and bolt it down. I found a dead area in the coach and bolted down with a metal backing plate. It is in an area that is too hard to reach to pry on it or pull it out, yet allows easy access.

CHIPPYSGT..It's big enough to hold a duty pistol.

Don,

Thanks. I'll check out Home Depot's supply as well as Stealth Safe Co.
