The sumos are a two piece assembly for each front location. When installed there is no visable gap. My research and discussion with the company was that their original version was a one piece and it was a little too firm. However both generations are designed to compress under load and road conditions. I got my 2022 Vista in 8/21. After 5,000 miles I hated the ride and started adding upgrades. I even considered Liquid Spring but the cost was prohibitive and it added a lot of weight to the coach.. By September 2022 and 15,000 miles on the coach I added the sumo springs. We immediately took a 6000 mile trip and noticed a pleasant improvement. .
We travel across some bad roads from our home in Arizona, across poor roads through western reservations and state roads everywhere. I never drive over 65 even when speed limits are 80. These F53 chassis will never ride well unless Ford changes the solid front axle and leaf spring design, and we’ve almost considered going back to a C chassis but after all the upgrades we made we feel it made it acceptable. I still avoid roads I know are exceptionally bumpy or slow way down. I hope my experience is helpful.
