10 Gallon Atwood Water Heater Replacement
Hello- We have a 2004 Adventurer 33v that needs the 10 gallon Atwood water heater replaced due to not winterizing properly. Does anyone know where a replacement can be found? Also, I am considering changing it over to a tankless water heater. Would this be a better way to go? Thanks in advance.

Atwood is now extinct, Dometic now makes a change-over unit, then separately sells an adapter kit, then separately a new door and re-sizing kit for that as well.
Some RV owners are having problems with tankless heaters, due to flow-rates and varying water pressures. You might want to do some research on that topic.
The cheaper brands/models often have a low temperature rise of say 40°F, add that temperature rise to incoming 45° water and your shower water temperature cannot exceed 85°.

Thank you very much for your reply. We will look for the Dometic and most likely go that way to keep everything original, that’s usually best.

Tankless heater
There is a YouTube by The RV Tech on this subject of switching over to tankless from a tank water heater you might be interested in. Travato John.

Dometic bought Atwood and promptly discontinued the 6 and 10 gal water heatrer sizes that have been used since the late 60's in tens of thousands of rv's. dumb
Seeing an oportunity, Suburban has launched a line of "Direct Replacement" water heaters that are the size of the old Atwoods. You can even use the door from your Atwood with the Suburban Direct Replacement.
I purchased a Suburban 6gal. for our Vintage Airstream. The size was perfect, the fittings were in the same place, only some minor wiring changes were required. I would check them out. Good Luck

While educating myself about Suburban RV water heaters, I came across a Chevrolet RV water heater: https://www.amazon.com/SUBURBAN-MFG-.../dp/B01NH4Z1TK
