Awning for Solis 59PX Poptop

Hello!

We want to install one on our Solis. Has anyone done this and if so, what awning did you have installed?

Thanks,

Walt

Hi -

There are a number of options as you could imagine, but I went with a Moonshade removable awning. Its much less expensive that a Fiamma or something similar, and works great. Very easy to set up, can be secured in a number of ways to the van, and to the ground to handle any wind. I bought the extra strong removable magnets that are used to attach it to the side of the van. Its super light, and well constructed. Packs up in a small duffel bag for easy storage. Might be worth a look!

Happy travels!

Hello Brian and thanks for the reply!

We have looked at the Moonshade and the Dragonfly as well. Hoping we can find a way to make a permanently installed awning work.

That may be difficult with the camper top. I believe that is why it was not an offered option by Winnebago.

Have you found your solution to the awning?
We chose the Dragonfly. We like the versatility of being able to “reshape” it for the different weather conditions (ie. lower a corner to drain the rain water, shift the shape to shelter against the wind, etc.) We found that the Thule Hideaway could be mounted with special brackets, but we didn’t want the limitations of only having it deployed when the weather (rain/wind) conditions were mild. We were tired of rain coming in the slider when we wanted fresh air in the van (life in the PNW = sideways rain).
