I've never done one of these...but thought it might be fun.

I picked one but really prefer 'larger site, partially shaded with full hook ups.'

Part of the reason we bought the motorhome was so we could get back to doing some variety of camping. With our 39' 5er it was really tough to get into all but the larger state parks, and of course boondocking.
In the Northwest there are some amazing State Parks with full/partial hook up's so we're pretty spoiled. Most of our summer camping trips are at various riding spots for our ATVs so power isn't something we usually have.

Large site, partial shade with full hookups.

I can get by with water and 30amp for 5-6 days, but full HU is nice. Like large spots with shade. Just returned from 6 days at Guadalupe River State Park north of San Antonio,TX. Very large spots, very shady, remote with w/30a. and water.

Any type of campground is okay with me; it means that I'm not home and not at work!

We usually like shaded, full HU. We like to shower in our own shower, do some laundry once in a while and need a dump for the water we use. But I don't mind no hookups either as long as there is shade. Shade is a must at "MY" stage of life. The cooler the better! LOL! DH has been known to have icicles on his beard inside the MH in the summer with the AC on full blast! Poor guy!

With the way the "slides" are set up, my coach doesn't lend itself to smaller shaded sites. Although, I do like shaded sites if available with room to put the slides out.

I don't like the heavily shaded sites. Too many trees = more bugs And less room for all of our stuff!! If I could only have full sun or heavily treed, I would take full sun every time. I can always hide inside or under the awning midday when it is hottest outside.
Of course my ideal site is one or two trees for shade at the very back of the site, with plenty of room for slides, awning, a sleeping tent and of course...full hook ups

The great thing about our rig and our ATVs is the campground is only part of the trip. When I get to see things like this...
and this...
and even this...
I figure I must be doing something right

Shannone, I think you would change your mind about having the shade if you did much camping in Florida during the middle of summer. It can be blistering hot even in the shade.

Sun, anywhere we can get a clear shot to the Satelite where the baseball games are showing.
Water, 50 Amps and a bonus Dump Hole.
Clear shot to the Baseball Games....
Shade, with a hole in the trees to get a shot of the Satelite where the Baseball Games come from.
Oh, did I tell you we are both Base Ball Fanatics!!!!!!!!!

We like a variety of sites. It all depends on location, location, location. There is a time and place for all variety of sites. Yes I would take full shade in eastern Washington after April but wouldn't want full shade in Olympic National Park or I would come away with moss on me and the motor home after twenty-four hours.
