Ah, I see what you are saying now. Some rails are designed for full extension, some are not. It could be that your unit might carry such a high load that the rail extension is not designed to come...

Certainly is a known problem and often the cause of it not being full length is a vent pipe or furnace tube that restricts one very small piece but you lose the entire use of all the space.
