Moisture problem

I just purchased a Winnebago Sightseer and I am having a problem with dampness in the outside storage bays. This happens when I am parked. Has anyone else had this problem?

When you say dampness, do you mean condensation forms or does it really get wet? Is it all bays?

BTW, the forum rules request that we don't make duplicate posts.

Moisture Problem

It is a condensation dampness. It seems to be only on the bays under the living room slide.

The only thing that will solve condensation problems is ventilation. You may try insulating the floor.

I have a 2003 Sightseer and have just noticed the same condensation problem in the bays under the living room slide. How did you fix this problem?

Check that molding that runs along the top of the bay doors at the hinge. There should be a bead of sealant on the top side of the molding. In time it will leak and allow water into the bay.

I checked the bays today while it was pouring down rain and both sides were dry. This weekend while camping in North Georgia, the inside tops of the bays under the living room slide were covered in condensation and it was dry outside. Might be that all the sides of the bays except the top are covered in carpet. I'm guessing that the top is exposed to elements and the temperature difference between the outside and inside of the top piece causes condensation.
