Not sure why wires are going to drivers side mirror?
I have a 2007 Winnebago Aspect 26, because of rain I put off the roof maintenance for a coulple days. So today I removed the mirrors to repaint them. They were turning yellow I think from the sun. This motorhome does not have power mirrors, when I removed the passenger side there were no wires going to the mirror head. When I removed the driver side there were 5 or 6 wire I had to unplug to remove the mirror. I am just confused why the driver side mirror is wired?
Thanks Mike

You should have a switch that lights up when it is turned on.

I will look for the switch tomorrow, I was just wondering if the heated mirror could work off the defrost setting like on my Chevy Trailblazer.
Thanks Mike

That's a lot of wire for a heated mirror. OTOH it's the wrong kind for many sensors or antennas. It might be interesting to see what does not work... ;-)

Yes. Sales brochure says manual mirrors are standard, power mirrors with defrost are optional.

I looked today and did not see any switches or lights relating to the mirrors. Just wondering if the power mirrors are that much better than the manual ones. I am not sure how hard and the cost to convert mine to power.

On our 1999 motorhome, there are a lot of wires that are just taped off and not used. I believe these are original to the GM chassis and just not used by our builder. In the same way, Winnegabo probably uses just one style of wiring harness for simplicity rather than changing a harness to accommodate rear view mirror options.
Regarding power mirrors, we have power and heated mirrors and enjoy the convenience.

If its a manual mirror, the glass is fixed to the housing. If its power, the glass will move if you push on it.

FWIW, it's quite common for the builder to supply a single wiring harness that will serve multiple floor plans and accessories. My coach has many wires that are not used. TMH used the same harness for basically the entire Phaeton, Bus, and probably Red motorhomes.
The auto industry does the same thing.

Thanks for that information about the wires not being used and the glass being adjustable on the power mirror and on the manual one is not. Would you know if you could tilt the manual mirror up or down? I did not want to force it and break it.
