Question Vectra Air Horns

1999 Vectra Grand tour 37B Gasser, air horns do not work. Does anyone know where a compressor is or how else they would work. I haven't pulled them off to see if there is an air hose or elec. wire. Thanks, Cork

Mine didn't work either. It was a selenoid under the front hood. Not sure where exactly but I was told it was a common problem. Don't remember the cost but it wasn't a lot.

Our old 94 had a air tank with a small compressor up front under the hood.
Does the compressor run?

I previously owned a 2003 Chieftain on a Workhorse W22, There was a air tank and compressor in the front that had to be accessed from underneath. The air tank had no way to drain the accumulated water. Consequently moisture and crud would plug the solenoid. Hadley emailed me instructions on how to disassemble the solenoid and clean it and it always worked OK after cleaning. I never had to replace the solenoid. I did remove the air tank once and thoroughly clean it and dried it out. I called and complained to Hadley and asked why they never installed drain valves so we could drain the water periodically and they told me the box builders mount the air tanks vertically and horizontally and they would not know where to install the drain valve. Hope this helps you;

Don

I have the same year and model, I found my pump under the chassis on drivers side bolted to an upright. Problem with mine was a carroded connector at solenoid.air tank was behind solenoid.
