As an engineer, I don't think much of the Safe t Plus. I went with the Steer Safe on my old P30 and it STOPPED the road wander. I have found few RV service types have any engineering background.
The Steer Safe will squeak, but it does work.

Well, as far as my wife and I concerned the jury's in and the SteerSafe is a clear winner. Here's the story:
We've been fulltiming now for close to three years in our '07 Trek. As our past includes eight years of RVing, owning our own RV Repair Service Center in Fairbanks Alaska (five bays, but since sold out to our partners) and a stint selling RV Coaches for one of the largest RV Dealerships in the Southwest US, you would think that we would automatically make the best choices concerning our Motorhome. Not So! We knew enough to get it four cornered weighed, tire pressure adjusted correctly and equipped with front and rear Trac Bars. We did all that after a good chassis lube, kingpins greased with wheels off the ground, and a quality front end alignment. When it came to choosing a steering stabilizer we were convinced to go with a Safety Plus this time, instead of the SteerSafe which we had on two previous RVs and loved. The reasoning behind changing was that our other Motorhomes (a Class A Coachmen and a 1999 Class A Trek) were both on a P Chassis with independent front suspension and that our new Trek was on a W20 Workhorse. We had the Safety Plus installed after about 11,000 miles and had a heck of a time getting it adjusted even though we had it put on professionally. It took about 3,000 miles and seven or eight tries before we could get it to track straight and even then it wandered quite a bit. I really need a straight tracking vehicle as I'm a left arm amputee and do all my driving with one hand. When I must let go of the steering wheel to access the turn signals or something I trap the wheel with my knee. It's a good system and has served me well for many years but I couldn't trust it with the Safety Plus for more than a second because of road wander. Well, anyway, after using the Safety Plus for almost two years and 22,000 miles we decided to get the SteerSafe put on at the latest FMCA Rally in Bowling Green Ohio, to at least try it out. We got the Show Special Price, $389.00 installed, and they put it on right in the parking lot. They have a thirty day full refund guaranty and we didn't have to take off our Safety Plus to try it. What an amazing difference! Our RV drove like a different machine! We've since had our coach four cornered weighed, complete chassis lubed and our alignment checked by Precision Frame and Alignment in Elk River MN (a Great Shop!) and had the Safety Plus removed. I can now let go of the steering wheel in crosswinds and she tracks wonderfully. We don't get pushed over by approaching Big Rigs and high crown roads don't make us drift off center. I should add that our weights are balanced and not overloaded on either axle and that our alignment checked out perfect with no abnormal tire wear. The SteerSafe is a good company with a great reputation for backing up their product. I wish we had done this years ago because this is what an RV should handle like. We drove eight hundred miles in three days and, even though it was windy the entire time, driving was a pleasure.

Congrats on getting your coach the way you want it. Wandering is a problem that has started many threads, on iRV2. It seems different coaches react differently to after market products. Well done.

I have a 2000 Chieftain and also called Camping World and they tried to talk me into the saf-t-plus I went with the steer safe and wow what a difference. I cant see how a single shock can outperform the steer safe.I would like to hear also what your opinionis of the safe-t-plus.
Steer safe was simple to install did it myself in about a half hour.

I agree with Chief, Mary Lou. Steer-Safe made a world of difference for me. It is simple, mechanical, and an easy install. If you are going by Deming, New Mexico, stop in at the factory and have them install them for you. You won't regret it.

After my first 50 mile trrip in my new Voyage, the Steer Safe went on. I wouldn't leave home without it

Finhawk: Did you install yourself? If affirmative how would you rate the install on a scale of 1-5 (5) being difficult and requiring a pro. Any other OP's answer is welcomed as well.

I did not install it, only because I didn't feel like crawling under the rig. It is a simple installation tho. The main thing is making sure the wheels are straight
