Going to Boca Chica to watch a rocket

So, SpaceX is planning another Starship launch soon (maybe as soon as Valentine’s Day)… Does anyone have insight as to camping spots, routes from Charlotte, local flavor? Tours of SpaceX? And surrounding area.

I have a next door neighbor that goes to those launches. He says you can’t get within 5-mi of the launch site. But he stills sees plenty. He texted me a video of the last one.

As to camping, I have no info. He has family near there and stays with them.

Two RV parks on the south end of South Padre Island and three in Port Isabel would give you a pretty good view of SpaceX. Take a look, might work for you.

Hope this helps, have fun.

Yeah, saw those on trip wizard - anyone have firsthand experience camping there. 5 miles from the launchpad is good - closest at Cape Canaveral is about 3 miles if I remember correctly. I’ve seen several there including Apollo 8 as a boy… WOW that was bigger than life. Starship is double the power!
