2004 Journey interior lights Aux power

Hello all,

I just bought a 2004 Journey. I have it plugged into shore power. The interior lights only are working when AUX Power switch on the dash is on. is this correct? I thought once plugged into shore power it switched over automatically?. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much
