Finally got it figured out, the DVD was set to progressive. I knocked of the progressive light and now it plays fine.

My wineguard I think was put in after original purchase.

That is a good question. Since my multi switch wineguard box sits directly on top of the VCR/DVD player, I don't know where the RCA Jacks are coming from? both units are bolted down, I can't see...
