Good news.

I'm going to put mine in the shop within the next month for some maintenance, and one will be the Jack alarm. I can understand checking them with the light on as that is the fault...

I don't think you will have any problem with a jack dropping. The reed switch is just a sensor to tell the system that the jack is up and to turn off the alarm.

That is contradictory to the manual and the technicians I talked to. They said to wipe them down with Silicone or Dexron. Just saying. The manual says silicone.
