On my 5ver I spread the channel open a bit to reinsert a length of cover and then closed it back together ... don't know if that can be done on our coaches ...

You could temporarily remove the slide out cover...

You could temporarily remove the slide out cover to give you direct access to the slide out gasket. May give you more options to consider. The attached doc has some guidance.
