Bedroom slide won't stay closed...

I've been noticing that since I put my coach in storage for the winter, everytime I go by to get something, the bedroom slide is not closed tight. It seems to be mostly at the bottom and today the bottom was out about six inches. I just go in and press the slide button and it tightens up again, but I'm puzzled as to why it doesn't stay tight all the time. Any suggestions...? By the way, the coach is a 2006 Meridian 36G.

My previous coach (03 Journey DL) used to do this on occasion. It was usually caused by reversing the slide before it traveled to the stop. Cycling fully 2 or 3 (sometimes 6 or 7) times always corrected the problem.

In other words it's not happy being stored and begging to go on a 3 day weekend? Hard enough to put em up without em talkin back.

My passenger side slide did the same thing. I visited the HWH factory at Moscow, IA. They replaced a slide solenoid valve and all is well again.

The slides don't like being only partially opened/closed ...stopped before the end of the cycle. Try erneigh's suggestion first, continuing to hold the switch down for 10-15 seconds after the slide stops moving. That will purge any air out of the system. If that doesn't cure the problem, the likely problem is a bad retract solenoid.

How is the slide operated.. pick from the following list

1: Cable car (If the slide is out you will see 4 cables, two on the "Front" (Vehicle front) two on the rear, note there are 8 cables total, you can't see the other 4.

2: Hydraulic.. (hoses pistons and a pump)

3: Rack and Pinion.. under the slide is a long toothed rail (or 2)

Answers vary with system

I'm guessing 2 or 3, and if 3 the brake on your slide out motor is released or. toast.. there is a lever on the end of the motor (usually) that is a manual release. You need to read (the fine manual) for further details.

If hydraulic, others have already given my best guess above (Valve).
