With the Renegade the issue is not the transmission but the 4WD transfer case. There is no Neutral position for towing like the bigger Jeeps.

Wrangler and Jeep Liberty are both available in true 4X4. For AWD, the Honda CRV and manual trans Subarus are good toads.
