That would be the
White wire (Gas Furnace Control)
and
Red/White wire (+12 V Power)

When the contacts in the thermostat connect these two together, the furnace will run.

Ralph, my guess is that the wiring is messed up going to the thermostat. When they changed it out last June, they must have cross-connected a wire or a wire is open.
