Back to the hole drilling.. I drilled a couple of 1/4” holes 10 years ago and there is zero water intrusion. Not sure how it would get in. Highway slosh is coming at it from underneith at 90 degrees...

Assuming its a moulded plastic compartment? Just drill a couple of 1/4”holes and let things drain out. Its also nice to rinse out the bay and it dries on its own
