I have the xantrex tc6012 charger in my 2003 journey 34hd and when I plug into 50 amp service the charger goes into fault mode but if I plug in a dogbone and plug it back into a 30amp or 15 it works fine any suggestions ( and yes I just installed the 50 amp plug and yes I did check it thoroughly 120 to each side through neutral and 240 across the hot sides

You don't tell us at what point you were testing, after the trransfer switch or where? What the results seem to say is that it senses you are getting one leg of power on 30 amp but not two good legs on 50 amp. I might first try using the generator to test things on generator versus cord. That may tell you more about where the problem might be.
OR as an alternate if you have not tested at the load center, that may be an easy step as well.
Sheet 4 of this drawing should get you the drawings for a 50 amp coach of your RV.

I would suggest starting with all the breakers except the mains off to prove out power gets to that point as a way to cut the chase in half. I might guess it will be back toward the cord or genset but I would want to do the easy testing before looking at the switch.
My thoughts run to dividing the question. Is it in toward the coach? Is it in the cord or the generator, due to a transfer switch or where?

Ok so when plugged into a50 amp cord ( standard) the charger does not work ( info ) the xantrex charger is plugged into a power outlet where the engine heater plug usually is , I did run the generator and the charger works fine , also works fine if it’s plugged into a 30amp or 15 amp cord ( aka ) through the 50amp cord , but goes into fault mode when I just plug in the 50 amp
Cord

I think morich has I right. I'll bet the receptical is wired wrong or only one 120 volt leg is live. I read you had tested it but ....

I read a post on RV life saying if your breakers aren’t all ont it won’t show 50amp I checked mine are the ones for the washer dryer were off ( cause they removed it ) so I flipped them back on and yep 50amp shows
