Winter Camping in Micro Minnie

Hi All! We are thinking about taking a trip to the Southwest this January. We are a little concerned about night temps falling below freezing. Any advice on what we should do to prepare our travel trailer to camp in potential below freezing temps at night while in use? Would hate to get out there and have everything freeze up while we are camping. This will be our first trip in our new cherry red 1700BH Micro Minnie! Thanks in advance

Your city water connection will be the biggest risk. If it's really cold, just use water in the tank and water pump.
Keep the camper winterized while towing if you are going through real cold.

The safest thing to do is leave the camper winterized and use the campground bathhouse. Then it won't matter how cold it gets. Everything else depends on how cold it is and how lucky you feel.

We have taken three such trips from Vermont. We depart in January with camper winterized. Once we hit Virginia, we de-winterize, then use the normal procedures. Usually just a couple days to get there, so it isn’t bad. I know it is controversial, but there are people who just turn on the furnace and travel to keep underbelly warm. But, don’t let any of that stop you from traveling! Enjoy the journey, as our trips have taken us to Key West, and the Arizona deserts, and points between.

The problem with traveling in winter is not so much the underbelly as the fresh water drain valve and the black/grey dump.
If those freeze on the road, you may be in trouble, especially if you start leaking black water on the cars behind you.
