I factory ordered my Itaska Ellipse in January and took delivery in April. Tried to convince my dealer that it should qualify for the April 1 to May 31 cash bonus of $4,008 ........ No Luck !

I'd check the details with the factory. My understanding is the bonus could be used to reduce the price of the product or sent to the owner as cash on units bought or ordered between said dates. On the internet, it just says see dealer for details. Ugh!! Be interesting to know if factory paid bonus to dealer and he/she told you tough nuggies.

I was able to take advantage of the program - the kicker is: the dealer has to order another unit in order for you to get the benefit....my dealer did not want to order another Suncruiser but did order something else that satisfied Itasca.

When I ordered my'07 Journey in August '06, Winnie was offering a $3K rebate. Conditions were the same, where the selling dealer had to order another coach. They told me I was not eligible for the rebate, as they purchased their whole '07 allotment at a prior show.

My response was, if I didn't get the $3K rebate, no deal. Guess what -- they came back after an alleged phone call to Winnie, and said they would honor it....

I don't know why purchasing a new motorhome has to be so difficult.

It does wear ya down----listening to the sales pitch. I've had 3 seperate dealers tell me that after mine is 10 years old, it's worth nothing. That was the point that they worked on more than anything else. Is that a sales pitch or the truth? I just don't believe it.
I came close to buying a new Limited last week but the procrastination and B/S by the dealer made me decide tokeep this thing.

Finhawk,

I would encourage you to sell your coach privately, and then purchase a new coach without a trade. I know there may be a sales tax hit, but for me it was worth it.

I sold my prior coach privately (a 2000 model year) and sold it at a $15K margin over what the dealer would offer on trade.

I even sold it locally thru the newspaper!

Take the trade discussion away, and negotiate solely on the new coach.

Finhawk...I to agree with Pusherman. I know it can be alot of work to sell your coach yourself, however since most dealers will only give you below wholesale it can be well worth your while. The whole buying process is made so much simpler without a trade.
