why are all new M/H dark or black

Why aren't there any blue or pink motorhomes?

Especially pink.
Pink is the "calming color".
They paint the walls of loony bins pink for that reason!

Seems like a calming effect would be a good thing when out on the Battlegrounds we like to call
"Our Interstate Highway System".

I think its awesome.. just sent it to the wife to get permission to paint ours that way :)

I wonder how hard it is to get a pink awning.....?

Fire Engine Red

Recently saw a fire engine red Class A. First look, I thought it was a fire truck.

The colors, beveled mirrors, etc. are just inept "designers" attempting to keep up with the latest fad. RV interiors seem to be designed to please Granny Clampitt types & folks who buy their home accessories at Wal=Mart... We spent a lot of time replacing all the brass plated hardware with brushed steel. Cabinet hinges, pulls, knobs, towel bars, etc. Also replaced all the cheesy print window treatments, upholstery, etc.

The stripes & swirls on the exteriors are intended to break up the slab sides so it doesn't look like a delivery truck.

i think motorhomes are no different than others 'retail' items....
i run and the shoe industry changes every six months so that the shoe you buy today 'is old' because the latest new colour has taken over

i also notice that white anything placed on the top of the motorhome used to be white, now everything is black!
the up side; know if it is a new one or not

regards, pdq

We would love to do just that. I think they intended to make the hardware look "rich" but it looks kind of corny to us. The only problem is when we got looking at how much stuff there is and started adding up the cost I got over it for a while. Maybe some day we will go for it or start replacing stuff a little at a time.

When I wax mine the lighter color area is easy the buff off the residue and the black and dark areas always have a subtle streak left behind. I need to follow the sun and work on the shady side. Same with water spots while washing! Lay your hand on the black in the sun and keeping it there is only acceptable in the winter when you enjoy the warm feeling it gives you!

Pink makes me gag. My calming color is "gunmetal gray"! :whistling:

Probably the same idea behind the dark interiors, it does look rich, but that dark mahogany interior when camped in a forest or on cloudy day means you need to use your interior lights all the time. My older Newmar has the white washed Oak and is brite inside with the white outside and paint accents.

Well do not buy a dark colored coach...they will not paint them dark if no one buys it. Duh. LoL!

I'm sure you are in the minority. Dealers and manufacturers order and produce the options that sell. I would venture to guess that most buyers of new Class A MH's desire full paint jobs over white.

Agreed
Reminds me of waterbed furniture

Duh, I didn't and will not buy dark colors.
Kinda disappointed beacause I wanted the new Adventure 35P
and full body paint could be white with the appropiate stripes.
I have a full body paint now on my M/H it's Ford's cream brulee and thats white enough to be cool to the touch. I just wanted to get rid of the workhore chassis and go to ford. Their only people who have had problems with workhorse and people who are going to have problelms with workhorse. There are no new 8.1 engines only rebuilt. I just had to get one and when you are stuck somewhere and no other timely choice you will pay big bucks.
