I am considering buying a Class A Winnebago Vista 32' with the Ford V-10 what kind of gas mileage should I expect to get?

Thanks.

You can expect what ever you want, but you'll get what you get! I haven't owned a gas rig since 2000, then it was a 35' Santara with 460 and Banks kit. I regularly got 5 mpg towing a '95 Honda Odyssey on a dolly. Now I get 7.6 with a 45' Country Coach towing a CR-V, that weighs at least double what the Santara did.

From my signature about same size. I plan on 7 and get 7.5 or a little better towing. A real head wind -1 same with mountain passes.

I have a question...in the end does it really matter? The only reason I would even check the gas mileage would be to track engine performance changes. When you buy one of these homes on wheels all common sense is left behind, or traded in for new adventures, new lifestyle, new friends, new places.......gas mileage is no longer a concern. Just my opinion.

Weight and speed are the enemies to good fuel mileage. We managed 8.3 mpg overall for the first 10,000 miles - 2,500 in the southern CO mountains. We cruise at 55-60 mph and tow only about 50% of the time.

10 4! I keep telling people it's "Smiles per Mile" that matter!
Happy New Year.

When asked I always say "7.5 avg; pretty bad for a motor vehicle, but great mileage for a house."

Exactly this. Mine started getting around 5mpg under the same conditions where it previously got 7mpg, so I started hunting around.
Eventually, on the suggestion of a mechanic friend of mine, I ran it at night and sprayed Windex on the plug wires - one side lit up like the proverbial Christmas tree. I had plug wires arcing, but not to the extent that I could hear any change in the engine. Put in new plug wires and right back up to 7mpg.

Same here with same results!

Beau388 gave the best answer. I have 10,000 miles on a 2016 Vista 30T. If mileage is important to you, slow down. I too drive 55-62 mph. The worst I have achieved was 7.8 mpg towing my Subaru XV Crosstrek into a headwind for 2 days from Las Vegas to Caldwell, Idaho. The last time out from Anacortes, WA to Caldwell over two mountain ranges, 555 miles, not towing, I achieved 8.68. Often the 70 mph drivers pass me twice in the same day. I assume some of their stops are for refueling. I comfortably use 600 miles for a refueling range with my 80 gallon tank.

I have a Sunstar 35F. Driving just the MH, with a full water tank and mostly empty gray and black tanks, we get ~7.8 mpg.

With the tow dolly and car on, adding a bit under 5000 lbs to the total, we get ~6.6 mpg.

I keep our speed at about 63 - 64 mph, and try to drive gently. I'll let it slow down on an uphill rather than have the transmission shift down and race the engine to keep our speed up.

Old truck driving friend said 2 things drivers lied about fuel mileage and women some rv drivers seem to stretch their fuel mileage. Had 1 tell me their gasser Newmar V10 got 11mpg. I like to tell myself I get between 7&8 but really think 6 would be closer.

hfbundy... what trailer do you tow the Subaru with?
