Hello, not sure if this question has been asked before. I will be picking up my 2023 2108FBS Micro Minnie is a couple weeks.

First upgrade is a 12v 300Ah Lithium Battery to replace the lead acid. I'm having the dealer install the inverter prep wiring (std 2024) to install an inverter. If the price is right I will consider a inverter/charger.

My question here is;

1) What Converter/Charger Model is installed in the 2023 2108FBS

2) What Converter Charger Model is installed in the 2023 2108FLX

3 What Model of Inverter is installed in the 2108 FLX.

4) What Model of Inverter/Charger is installed in the 2108FLX
-Is the Charger in the Converter/Charger disconnected

I’m sure others with direct knowledge will chime in, but I can answer some of this.

Winnebago has been using Xantrax inverters in all their RVs for 5 or more years now. 1000w and 2000w depending on the model. If you want to run your microwave on inverters don’t go smaller than 2000w.

Since your TT will be coming with Converter you’ll likely not want to bother with a change to an inverter/charger. That’s a fairly big alteration. So even if you have to replace the Converter to get Lithium charging profiles you will find it much cheaper to keep the Converter for charging and add an inverter for, well, inverting.

Lastly, asking a TT dealer, even a Winnebago dealer to do this work is probably not your best choice. Very few dealers have enough experience in these newer technologies. You can probably find an independent technician that specializes in Lithium and inverter installs.

As another side note, I wonder about the inverter charger in the Micro Minnie FLX. Is the Inverter sized to briefly run the Air Conditioning from the inverter when boondocking.

2024 2108 FBS uses WF8900 series with auto changeover sensing for lithium.

I added a 2000w Pure sine wave inverter (GoPower?) not wired into Micro or a/c circuit, you would need to upsize a lot of wiring and use a 3k+ for that…

WM thanks for the Converter info and picture. Is it the 8955-AD (55amp charger)? As the 2024+ comes inverter ready with 14-2 (15 amp) wiring yes you would setup as you stated.

In my case without inverter ready wiring, I negotiated that the dealer install 10-2 (30Amp) wire from passthrough. This will allow me to incorporate the Microwave and Air Conditioner in the inverter circuit.

Anyone here with a 2021, 2022 or 2023, is yours the same Converter as above (state Std or FLX)

Nice! Wish I had the heavier gage wire, but with 220 aH of lithium it likely wouldn’t last long anyway. Any estimate how long you will get with A/C?
Don’t really like generators, but have a Honda 2200 running off propane line if really needed.
Yes I believe that is the charger number, but think there is another letter as well that indicates auto changeover.

Thanks to Fred 2106DS for this wiring/operation information.
Thanks to Marine359 for his help in the Xantrex selection.

Installation:
The 30 amp shore power wire gets removed from the Distribution Panel Circuit #1 and spliced into a 10-2 lead that goes to the inverter's AC IN terminal.

The 10-2 lead that comes from the Inverter AC OUT terminal connects to the distribution panel at circuit 1 (where the shore power wire (30Amp) was removed.

Operation:
If you go with just an Inverter X2000/X3000,
You can use your OEM converter charger to charge your battery. The only thing that you would need to do is put the converter charger on its own circuit breaker, if it isn’t already. You would need to turn that circuit OFF when using the inverter so you wouldn’t be in a battery charging loop. When you are connected to shore power or your generator, you would need to turn that circuit ON so your batteries will charge using the converter charger.

If you go with an inverter/charger XC2000/XC3000, you have a couple charging options.

1) You could use both the Xantrex inverter charger and OEM converter charger together. To do this, you would still need to wire the converter charger to its own circuit breaker as I stated above and only turn it ON when connected to shore power or your generator. The inverter charger would take care of its charging unit internally and will only turn on the charger when connected to shore power. In this case both chargers would charge the battery when connected to a shore power source.

2) The other option would be to leave the converter charger turned off and only use the built-in charger of the Inverter/charger XC2000/XC3000 unit.

Is there enough length to undo the small red and White wire and put up into the passthru via the hole in the floor by about 18"

I do not believe they are long enough. You would need to replace them with maybe 3-4’ each maybe, my trailer is off site, I could measure mid next week, 1/4” ring terms for trailer side, and whatever you have for battery connection.
Bill

Am I'm correct, the red from the battery may go straight to the disconnect switch in the passthrough. If I cannot pull it back, I will cut it where I can.

I'll put a ring terminal on the cut end. Remove the remaining lead from disconnect switch and attach the longer lead to the disconnect switch on the input side in the passthru, the orig end to battery.

Now the negative might require a new lead from the ground lug to the battery, if as you say not long enough.

Attached is a snip of the wires on the new trailer. seem fairly long.

I would get the 12v schematics from WBGO, they supply if you call them. I have the schematic for the 2024. You just have to supply the VIN.
That said, I believe the 12v hot goes from battery to a 30a resettable breaker on the crappy term strip before going to the disconnect in the pass thru.
Some hots don’t run thru the disconnect, like electric tongue jack, stabilizers, slideout, etc. I am guessing some of those things will need to be tested at your pickup? So you will need to energize those items as well.
Why so concerned with putting the battery in the passthru at the onset? Why not mount it on the tongue, then rewire all the stuff when you get home?
That way the converter will charge the battery on your drive back from your tow vehicle, etc.

The new EcoWorthy is wider than the tray for regular batteries. Won't fit in any regular size battery boxes to conceal it either.

I have a 100AH Lithium for my Minn Kota trolling motor. It's in a Newport Vessels Trolling Motor Smart Battery Box and should fit on the tray.

Maybe have to look at going that route, to save time and energy.

Sounds like a better plan to me. I hesitate to tear into things on the road, Murphy lives there.
Crimp a couple rings to suit the trolling battery, strap it down and go…
You can manually run the converter if it is not lithium ready, or does not auto changeover. Just shut off the breaker for it if it gets too high.
I shut off the converter at the breaker (second one from the top on mine) when I run the inverter. I don’t have an ATS.
Bill

Auto change over I believe. I understand they can apply a jumper and manually force it to Lithium Only. Dealer is on top of that one.

Don’t really need to force it I don’t think. Look for a blue light when it is on, can see thru the grill of the power panel, which indicates lithium mode.
Safe travels! Bill

Our 2024 FLX has a Xantrex 3000 watt inverter/charger and a 320Ah lithium battery. We're very happy woth both.
