I am a "silent Lurker" I have a 2005 Sightseer 29r. I am very happy and enjoy lurking. I mostly get answers to my questions just reading other peoples post. I I have a question I would ask.

I Have been an active rv.net member since 2005. Having made several hundred posts on rv.net I have practically quit posting there as there is such little new material/questions. I also get tired of some of the folks that feel obligated be nasty or go on the attack of the uninitiated. Followed a link from rv.net to this forum today and here's hoping I find this forum better to my liking. So far I like the forum dedicated to brand owners. Seems like it could be a better way to get specific answers to specific problems.
We had a Jayco class C for 3 years and enjoyed that and then moved on to the Sightseer 29R last year. I'm really impressed with the rig so far. I've got nothing bad to say about the Jayco, but the Winnebago is definitely a step above it as far as design/engineering.
The Jayco cost me 4K during the first year of ownership just to make things the way I wanted them. The Winnebago has only set me back a couple of hundred (biggest mod was to change the shower to a single handle pressure/temperature control faucet). Also had to buy a TPMS but I don't count that as a mod.
Most likely I'll be doing more than lurking on this forum.

I'm a new member as of 5 minutes ago and am posting here just to see how this works. I do, though, have a question and will probably need to be referred elsewhere. I have an Itasca Meridian with 3 12V coach batteries. Do I need this much capacity or can I switch to 2 parallel 12's or 2-series 6's? We do virtually no "dry" camping. Thanks. Jim

Membership in the Club only gives you the membership designation. There are no club activities or costs. I see you already have it done.

Welcome to the forum and the Winnebago Industries Owner's Forum. I am not a Tech but I don't think your battery charger will care either way. I have 3 group 31 batteries and I also have a 2000 Watt inverter charger which needs lots of power when used for dry camping. Are your batteries bad? If not I would recommend leaving them alone until they need to be replaced. Many of our members have gone to 2 - 6 volt Golf Cart Batteries in series with excellent results.

Hi Rebelsbeach; sorry for the late introduction to the Owmers Club, sure has a great bunch of people with lots of knowledge in the Club. We have been RVing since 1984 and crisscrossed the USA and CANADA many times. Started with a class B, two Airstream trailers 29ft & 31ft and at present the 05 Itasca Sunrise 33V

Hi, Rick Smith here. Also mgr/modertor of Winnebago Itasca Motorhome Owners & Friends forum. But I enjoy the info to be had here as well. With RV's, you can never have too much information! It just that we Winnebago products owners have less problems than some of those other brands! There is definately something to be said for the true automotive style assembly line process that Winnebago uses. As you can see, I am prejudice where Winnebago is concerned!!!

Hi-Just joined and this is mt first post-Just bought a 2008 View 24H. Trying to figure out how to add a satellite tv antenna for Direct TV. Understand that there is a marked spot on the roof with a cable, but what about a 12 v cable for the power supply?

First I would like to welcome you to iRV2 and the Winnebago Forum. We are glad you joined us. If you would like some Winnebago Karma I would be happy to help you with that. I can't help you with your question as my MH came with the dish already installed. My suggestion would be to call Winnebago at 800-537-1885 and pose your question to them. They have always been very helpful to me. Have your Serial # available because they always ask for it. You could also start a new thread in the Winnebago Forum and perhaps someone can answer your question.

I would like to encourage you to go up to the New Member Check IN and introduce your self. I believe you will receive some more welcome responses there and more of our members will get to know you.

I like to welcome all the new members to the forum, have been silently lurking on the side. We are getting ready for our trip south to the Sunshine State for a winter vacation. On the way will stop in at CW to have them look at my rear roof A/C lost all the freon.
