Type of Paint

I had a friend ask me what type of paint Winnebago is using on the full paint coaches.
Can any body tell me what they are using
Base coat, clear coat etc.

This is on a 2007 Adventurer, 37J

Just to clarify, it is a base coat, clear coat platform. I don't think that Winnebago goes to the expense to sand the clearcoat, and then buff to removed the edges of the different colors. This is time consuming and difficult, but some higher end coach builders do this, so you cannot feel the edges of the stripes.

CDI, the paint contractor for all of Winnie's full-body paint jobs, does a real nice job for a production coach. If you rub your fingers over the color edges, the difference in height is very minute (at least in my paint job.) I don't think the clear coat is buffed out.

Having visited and toured CDI when my '06 Vectra was there for clear coat issues I can tell you they use Sherwin Williams paints.
CDI does ALL the full body painting for Winnebago in a facility there in Forest City adjacent to the production campus.

CDI does do a good job...but if you take your rv to any shop or pick up a new rv check for overspray...(best way to describe it is a dull area in the paint) sometimes the only way you can really tell if you got hit with overspray is if you wash your rv...I went to CDI from boston to get a paint repair and they did not wash the entire rv just the area being painted. From my arrival trip I had a little dirt...returned home and washed the rv and found overspray all over the compartment door...still trying to get it off with a meguires clay bar. I expected them to wash it all or mask the area better. When they do repairs it is not in a spray booth, just a big open bay and rv's are within feet of each other. CDI does stand behind their work.

Thanks everybody for your replies. My friend was very happy to hear it is a clear coat job.
Guess he does not want to wax it often. Can't believe you would buy an expensive vehicle with out knowing all the little things.
