Hi Guys, I've pored over all the threads I could find on the subjects of electronics until I'm exhausted. Some of them made sense to me and even came close to my question. I also looked up some of the things they recommended. However, my issue is somewhat specific between the TV and the internet. Please allow me to explain. We have Xfinity at home for TV and Internet, and our cell phones are iPhones, also with Xfinity. Xfinity uses Verizon towers in addition to its own, so connectivity while traveling has been excellent.
I'm a stock trader (a hobby). Regardless of where I am, I'm online at least half an hour before the market opens at 9:30. Using my laptop and my cell phone's hotspot, I'm good to go.
The problem is TV. There is a dome on the roof. And I have used satellite in the past with fivers and MHs we've owned, but I always had satellite at home because of living rural, so it made sense to use it in the RVs. Now I don't have, nor do I want, a satellite at home. Since owning this RV (a 2019 Forza 34T), we have used the hotspot on my cell phone, which I place under the TV, and it works okay for me. You know the story about "if Momma ain't happy. . . . . . ." DW has another opinion. LOL.
There is so much "stuff" out there in the market that it blows this old Marine Grunt's mind. The bottom line is I am fine with the internet. I could sign up for Dish or DirecTV. The last MH didn't have a dish on the roof, so I bought a portable one that I could move around to get a connection. Since I have the dish on the roof, I'm leaning towards using it, but we do a lot of camping in rural areas and Florida's great state parks, often in the trees.
Now to my question. Is there something out there strickly for the TV that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and is reliable? I see a lot of different antennas when I walk around the parks, but I haven't had an opportunity to chat with anyone yet. I need some help here to make the DW happy so that I can be happy too. LOL :please:
Semper Fi, Jim

Jim,
Old Marine or not you have to learn about mobile internet. Using your phone as a hotspot is simply not going to cut it for streaming TV. It’s easy to use up to 3-gigs of high speed data an hour for 1080 resolution video.

It is a huge topic with lots of twists turns and gotchas.

Go to www.rvmobileinternet.com. They are the go to source for unbiased information. There’s tons there for free, but there’s no ads and they don’t sell anything so the complete information requires a yearly membership. I've been a member for 8 yrs and it’s invaluable, worth every penny.

Or if you don’t mind paying $160/ month for go anywhere unlimited internet order a Starlink dish and be done with it.

We use cellular routers and multiple unlimited SIMs to get hundreds of gigs of streaming and net usage a month for 1/3rd that cost. But everybody’s different.
