A member asked whether anyone had installed a TruTopper on a Tour full wall slide because they need to replace the complete slide topper. The only firsthand TruTopper report came from a member with one installed on a full slide Vita, who said it worked well after they had repeated problems with a conventional topper in high wind, heavy rain, pooling water, and flapping noise.

Other members mentioned conventional fabric replacement, including being careful with directions and square cuts...

Has anyone had True Topper installed on a Tour? Need to replace complete topper on full wall slide wondering if there was any experience out there.

I did look at that one yesterday. They were just discussing it, none of them stated that they actually had it installed.

My wife and I helped a friend replace his awning fabric twice, just pay attention to the directions! ( rule one}.

We also replaced the slide toppers on our Journey, but we only had to do that once because we learned rule one.
If you are cutting your own fabric be very very careful to make exactly 90 degree cuts...
I'm not familiar with the term "True Topper" but the cloth is pretty easy to replace on the original.

I have the Tru topper installed in Oregon. We have experienced the high winds of Arizona and my slide topper took off and broke the spring mechanism in the roller. Ended up cutting the topper off. Also during a previous trip back east, heavy rain pooled on top and actually pulled the topper out of the track. I am done with the regular topper. Didnt have it on my trailer and was fine. Now it is peace and quiet and no more flapping noise. As for cooling effect the black topper that was previously on captured hot air. Love my TruTopper. Mine is on a full slide Vita and it works great.

Thanks for your info. I have received my quote from True Topper although on the high end I believe we will be planning a trip to Oregon since they are the only shop that has installed on the Winnie.

yOU might check out Kansas City, Our friends had one installed there and they did an excellent job. He said he had dealt with this particular RV place before and they tend to be meticulous. Our Rig is the Vita with the full slide and since I am in northern California decided to do Oregon. Great folks up there.

Trutopper looks slick on their website. Anybody got an idea on the cost for a 25' full wall slide? The topper on our 2016 Journey full wall slide developed a tear after nine years and close to 1,200 nights on the road. Found a repair facility in Yuma to replace the fabric. We pulled into the yard popped the slides and started the genny. We were out of there in about two hours. Total cost was right at $1,000.
