Trailer Wiring - Sightseer

I know there has been a lot of discussions relating to this, but I wasn't able to see an answer to my question.

I recently bought a Demco Tow Dolly and it has a four wire flat connection for a hookup. The wires are: ground, running lights, left brake and turn, right brake and turn.

The Sightseer has a round six pin, with ground, running lights, left brake, left turn, right brake, right turn.

I bought an adapter (four to six) but it only results in my having the ground and running lights working. (no brake lights, no turn lights)

Does anyone know if there is an adapter that reconfigures the brake and turn into one wire. Thus giving me the single wire for the right, and a single wire for the left turn and brake.
This is kind of hard for me to explain clearly, I hope you all can understand what I'm trying to say. I don't wanat to get into wiring changes on the coach if I can help it. Thanks for any help. lowtide

Yours must be different from mine.
Although it has a six way connector only four pins are used.
The middle pin and the small pin next to it horizontally are unused.

Are you sure that the signals are getting to the 6 pin socket? I have a Itasca sunrise and right now my running lights on the 6 pin don't work, I have to take it apart and see where the break is. Maybe your brake and turn ligts are not working at the 6 pin. You could check with a regular 6 pin hook up or a voltmeter.

i got an 06 adventurer..work at a toyota dlr I used what they call a "7 pin" which only really uses 4 pins....which we sell for our trucks but ive seen these convertors at every trailor hitch store in town. including CW

You might want to consider cutting the 4 pin plug that connects to the Sightseer nd replace it with a 6 pin plug. Then you'll have all of the individual voltages to the correct lights.

Hello. All you need is the 6-pin round to 4 pin flat adapter (which is probably what you have.) There is no re-wiring or cutting necessary. If the brakes and turn signals don't work (the 2 pins on the end) then there is something wrong. You will have to troubleshoot with a meter or take it in to service. If it were me, I would see what pins that are the brakes/turn and check them at the original plug. I bet a fuse is out as I believe the trailer plug is on a separate circuit to isolate any trailer shorts from hurting your RV wiring. Just my 2 cents...Good Luck.

Walmart has these adapters. $10.

I bought a 6 round to 4 flat there for my magnetic lights.

Check the six plug with a test light. If yo have running, Left, Right. then the problem is either tow dolly wiring, bulbs, ground. or a bad adapter
