Members are seeking a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for a 2024 Vita 24P that uses internal valve stem sensors, similar to factory systems in cars and trucks, but with an external monitor for the motorhome. Most aftermarket TPMS options discussed use screw-on sensors or band-mounted sensors inside the rim, with TST and etrailer.com mentioned as sources, but these do not fully match the desired factory-style valve stem integration.

A key recommendation is the Dill Aftermarket TPMS...

I have a Buick car and a Chevy truck, both have built in factory TPMS. When a sensor goes bad, the tire shop puts in a new valve stem that is the sensor. Does anyone make a system that consists of the complete valve stems that are also the sensors, that are monitored by an external monitor mounted somewhere in my motorhome. In other words, I don’t want screw on sensors, I just want a system that works like my car and truck, but is monitored by a dash mounted monitor instead of through the vehicle’s built in system, which my Vita 24P doesn’t have. (2024 Vita built on a 2022 Sprinter Chassis. Thanks

A follow up in case my question is confusing. I would like to by a 3rd party system, if made by a company out there somewhere, that consists of 6 valve stem sensors and an external monitor to be mounted in my vehicle. I take my Vita to the tire shop, they remove and break down all six wheels and install the new 3rd party valve stem sensors. I then mount the blue tooth, wifi, or whatever, monitoring unit inside the vehicle and program it to the sensors.

etrailer.com has several types, they make TST sensor, but it is not a valve stem version, it is mounted with a band on the rim but all have external monitors

I just got the Dill Aftermarket TPMS from Tire Rack. They are internal sensors with metal stems. They work great.

No monitor. Just an app called Dill TPMS. I have it on an iPhone. I don't know if they offer it for Android. Since I have a truck with Apple CarPlay the pressures display on my screen. I wanted the quality of the internal sensors and metal stems and I didn't want anything on my dashboard. Dill also makes a repeater which I also bought from Tire Rack and installed. The only drawback so far is that you have to be rolling to wake up the sensors so you can't check your pressures before getting out on the highway. For this I bought a TPMS 'wake up' device on Amazon for $9 but I haven't been able to try it since my trailer is in storage across town...I will get to it and report back when I do.

Thanks for alll your info. It looks like Dill is the route I’m going to take as well. Might try without a repeater first. Wake-up device may be nice though. The sensors don’t address the problem of getting air into the inside dual when needed, but at least I’ll get a heads up of a tire losing air and address that when it happens before it does damage to the tire. I’ve been RVing, off and on since around 1985, and I would say the Achilles heel are tires and tire problems. I’ve had some really bad blow outs over the years, hehe.

Another suggestion is if you have a GM truck, check to see if you can add additional TPMS sensors to your dashboard display. I know this can be done on late model GMC Denali's but not sure what other trucks. Buy the same TPMS sensors that your truck has then take them to a tire shop and have them installed on your trailer. You should then be able to follow the instructions in your truck's manual to add them to your dashboard display. I know this works. My brother did this on his trailer.
