Greetings!

Looking at purchasing a used 20-25ft travel trailer with dual axles and bunks and am loving the Micro Minnie FLX series 2306BHS and the 2100BH. Likely the 2022 models. I've only towed a pop-up camper and am concerned about the hitch weight. I would really appreciate frank feedback on whether this is possible before I start negotiating on any of these campers.

Tow Vehicle: 2025 F150 Plat
Payload: 1271 lbs
(Yes, it's this low. Yes, I did not plan ahead. No, I can't swap it out :(

Occupants: 2 adults, 2 tween girls: Estimate 550lbs of people and stuff.
That leaves 720 lbs for hitch weight I believe.

One I'm looking at comes with Anderson WDH: 60lbs
Propane: 40-80lbs
battery is in the camper already.
I'd likely have bikes on the rear hitch for longer trips.
Not likely to travel long distances with tanks full, probably fill and dump locally

Here's where I struggle, The dry hitch on the 2306BHS is 584lbs.
720 lbs - 584 - 60lbs - 80lbs already puts us over (not factoring bikes on the rear of the camper)

So did I just calculate that I can't (shouldn't) tow the FLX 2306BHS? (not sure I did that right)

the FLX 2100BH hitch is 100 lbs less...any reason I couldn't tow that?
I think I'd prefer the 2306BHS, and there are many more out there, but the 2100BH would work too.

I appreciate all your help and experience!

,I have a FLX and have towed it over 30K mile with a Ford Ranger. This Winter I was in Fl. AZ, NM, and most states in between and then back to Maine. I travel most of the time with a full water tank since I boondock 80% of the time. I have never had a issue with the Ranger even on steep grades. I also have the Anderson WDH and I love it. Do not see why a 150 would not tow it easily.

I have a 2022 2306BHS FLX and I tow with a Ford F150 3.5 turbo. The F150 has the tow package. I have been towing with this rig for 3 years and it's a dream on the road. I do have a WDH and I have dialed it in. The truck has lots of power and I have been up and down SoCal mountains with no real issues. We had a 2108SD for 5 years before and it was a bit small. We towed it with a Ford Expedition and it had lots of power. With the 2306 we moved up to a real truck. I would highly recommend the larger unit since. It's just the two of us and a dog. BUT it has storage with the bunkbeds. We go out for weeks at a time and we can carry clothes and food with lots of space. I have not had it on a scale but I am sure it's near the weight limit. I did add RAS springs to the truck and E-rated tires and it tows much better now.

This is a follow up. We have been out with our fresh water tank full. Only with we are off grid. Most of the time we travel with a small amount of water.

I know this isn’t about your original question however I have some experience with bike racks and caution you if you are pulling e-bikes with your trailer. I am not aware of a bike rack mfg that would approve of hitching e-bikes to the back of a trailer. Apparently the trailers creates a wobble that can damage the bikes. 5th wheels can use a few racks out there but it’s best to check with the mfg.

There are several e-bike rated rated for the back of travel trailers. They’re a little pricey but folks report they’re happy with them.

I have an e-bike ramp rated for trailers and just finished 5 months and 12k miles with no issues.
