No one ever mentions either 14 ply of 16 ply tires when discussing PSI. Some say 82 pounds for a 245/70r19.5 but no reference to a 14 ply or 16 ply. Rear axle weight is 12,250 (had it weighed) 4 new Hankook 245/70r19.6 AH35 Smart Flex 16 ply. I've read many different articles about PSI, all over the place with many different answers. Can anyone help with what PSI should be and where they got the info from.
 
Your 16-Ply-rated tires are load range H:
Dual tires (maximum load): 4,850 lbs per tire at 120 PSI
Single tires (maximum load): 5,070 lbs per tire at 120 PSI
Your four rear tires would need this pressure:
((12,250 lbs ÷ (4,850 lbs × 4)) × 120 psi) × 110% = 84 psi

Those are the exact same numbers I came up with BUT I found various info about 14 ply vs 16 ply and PSI. The OEM tires which are being replaced are not to be mounted on 6.75 rims but rather 7.5 inch rims. Goodyear states 7.5 rim but yet Winni put them on a 6.75 rim and because of this and other reasons I tend not to trust what is found on the internet. So,,, thanks for info you gave. I'm going to go with 90 PSI for starting because of the 16 ply as I don't want the sidewall to buckle at all. I was going to do 85 PSI with the 14 ply. I hoping I'll get more input on this forum. Thanks again. (Winnie is my next call, but I doubt I'll speak to anyone that knows shiP.

Every RV comes with a Certification Label that identifies the tire size, Load Range and the Inflation required to support the GAWR. It is the responsibility of the owner to get the RV on a truck scale with the RV FULLY LOADED to the heaviest it will ever be. Then consult the "Load & Inflation tables" for the size and Load Range of the tires and to learn the MINIMUM cold inflation to run the tires. Front & Rear will probably be different PSI numbers but you already know that... Right?
 
How was the issue "Resolved"? Answer: Simply by understanding most people DO NOT have the faintest idea about most anything. My issue was that recommendation of PSI are not uniform.

Every RV comes with a Certification Label that identifies the tire size, Load Range and the Inflation required to support the GAWR. It is the responsibility of the owner to get the RV on a truck scale with the RV FULLY LOADED to the heaviest it will ever be. Answer: I had it CAT weighed all four corners too.
Then consult the "Load & Inflation tables" for the size and Load Range of the tires and to learn the MINIMUM cold inflation to run the tires. Answer: Minimum PSI is all over the place, depends who you ask and does not conform with factory or tire mfg specs.
Front & Rear will probably be different PSI numbers but you already know that... Right? Answer: yes I already know that. I was having more fun getting replies from a few people and a couple of knuckleheads such as yourself. I make of your oppening post that you not specifically want psi advice, but want to know why so different advices , and based on what.

This " pigheaded Dutch selfdeclared tirepressure specialist " , a hobyist with a rubber ducky, got hold of the official used calculation end 2007, and the little proyect I made of it grew out to my rubber ducky.
I studied many calculation methodes and concluded my own, and use that in list.

Eagle5 gives directly in 2nd post a lineair calculation and even adds 10% reserve.
In fact save and good calculation, gives slighty higher pressure then the official calculation.
That official calculation is different in US and Europe for LT and Trucktires. And for your size semi trucktire some, especially European brands, dare to use the saver European calculation, but most use the official US calculation , wich leads to lower pressure.

And so I can go on for pages, but first want to read from you if your post is meant, asI thought.

If you want it, I can make lists for your tires.
Because you weighed per axle-end , I then make it for per axle-end, and give 95% of calculated axle-end loadcapacity, in wich you then search back heavyest axle-end per axle.
Then if lightest side stays above 85% , still acceptable comfort and gripp, to my estimations, so discussable.

If I make list per axle , I use 90% , to cover weightdifferences R/L on the axle.
But in spreadsheet , I made for this, I can fill in other % reserve, if you have other ideas about it, wich we then first can discuss.

For a 245/70 it calculates 7.23 inch rimmwidth ideal ( measure rimm) , so 7.5 inch would be better, but 6.75 is within the standards.

But are your OEM's realy 245/70 R19.5, or mayby 225/70 R19.5, wich calculates 6.64 inch ideal rim.width, so closer to 6.75 inch of your rimms.

In my calculations I use the same ratio's as tiremakers use, so choosing the 6.75 instead of 7.5 ( goes in steps of 0.75 for trucksizes).
So those are not discussable.
Then choice of RV maker here is not realy wrong, but if realy 245/70 could have been better.
Better wider rimm then smaller.

To small( wich hete not the case) could give bolled treath, so centrewear, wich cant be solved by using lower save pressure.
