Storage in floor 2007 View 23H

While crawling under my 2007 View 23H (to fix a stairs issue, more about that in another post), I noticed a lot of area under the floor that wasn't being used.

I thought about getting the in-floor storage boxes (hatches) they use on boats, like this:

You'd probably want to use one that is fairly flush with the floor.

That space appears to be under the dinette, so it's not a place where people will trip, like in the main hallway.

Has anyone tried this?

I have also noticed space like this under my class a. I have wondered about making better use of it! That box looks like the way to go.
