Stiff Entry Door on 2024 Micro Minnie FLX

Our 2024 Micro Minnie FLX has a door that is really hard to open and close. Forget pulling the door closed with your pinky while walking in with a platter of grilled meat. Walking out with stuff in your hands is equally difficult. It has been like that since we purchased it new last year. Is this normal? Are the hinges designed that way? We are very meticulous about leveling the trailer when we set up.

I fully agree that many RV doors are a bit of nuisance and there are reasons for that. One it that they may get "readjusted" every time we crash into a six foot deep pothole! Some may only be six inches but it feels like six feet?
So can you tell us more about what is the main issue you see and feel at the moment?
Is it the latching that seems to be hard to operate or more that they door is hard to move? Does it seem to have excessive drag like the door is not fitting the opening quite right and might need moved a tiny bit?
I have to admit that I've never found one that was nice and stayed nice really for very long! But there might be ways we could suggest to make it less irritating!

The door latch works fine. The door fits perfectly into the opening. It just takes a lot of effort to open and close the door. If you push as hard as you can it will swing maybe 45 degrees. It easily latches and unlatches. It's like the hinges are challenged. I oiled them, but it didn't make a difference.

We have a 2026 Micro Minnie 2108TB and the door is very stiff. During our delivery walk through with the dealer tech, he told us it was intentional so as to prevent the door swinging easily in the wind. Our unit has no outside latch and no mechanism that would otherwise prevent wind from swinging the door, so the explanation made sense to me. It does seem like a better solution could have been available but we are learning to live with it.

My 2024 MM also has “some drag” when moving the entry door. As others have said it is the way the door is made to keep it from flapping in the wind. Not sure where the friction is coming from other than the hinge somewhere.
Maybe get a replacement hinge if you feel there is something wrong with yours?

I had a tough door hinge like that on my Jayco. I would lube it with a silicone spray or drops and wipe off the excess. It would loosen up for a while but would always stiffen up again as the silicone dissipated. You could see it flexing the whole doorjamb when it got really bad. Even when lubricated, it would still retain the quality of the friction hinge, so I didn't think it was doing any harm to lube it.

The hinge is.designed to hold the door open in any position otherwise it would swing in any wind. My micro minnie is.the same way and I actually like it this way.

Our 2024 Voyage 2831B has the same issue. It's the Lippert friction hinges. To put up the steps we must push the door open and it won't stay that way if we let go. I am considering replacing the hinges with non-friction and the old style door holder. The bedroom door is a smaller door with friction hinges and it works fine.

Yep, as designed. A pain at times, but greatly appreciated at other times. No door swinging and smacking me in the back or blowing closed at an inopportune time. I prefer it greatly over my previous motorhome that had conventional hinges.
