Good day folks,
How many of you have been stopped without extended mirrors? (Or maybe stopped for something else)
and got warned or anything for mirrors not extending 6” beyond the trailer?
Anyone know which states this has a requirement?
Thx! Bill

Hi Bill,
This web site has it for Washington:
https://trailers.com/state-laws/washington.php
and it reads:

  • Every motor vehicle must be equipped with mirrors mounted on the left and right side of the vehicle and so located to reflect to the driver a view of the highway for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of such vehicle.
You can insert your state of interest into the link; Oregon for example:

I just took the plunge and bolted up some clear view tow mirrors.
Safety item I guess so better not to stop cheap. Concerned on the fish-eye of side cameras taking too long to figure out what is in the mirrors.
Keep GC had pretty small mirrors, now they are really great, even with o TT…

Those mirrors are very cool!

Yes they even come with the puddle lights, so they replace every function of the original, BSM, heated, power adjust, power fold, turn signal, manual extension for towing.
2 memory positions, now one in and one out, so I guess the DW will lose her settings.
