Headed back to Alaska this summer and my 2025 24T has no spare tire. Purchased a matching spare tire but need to pick up a rim which has become a challenge. Seems the after market spare rims are not usable on all six tire locations. I did find an all position rim from Mercedes but is double the price.

Any suggestions?

Regards
Thomas

Hi Thomas,
I guess you will have to pay the money for it.
How much is it?

Brian is correct, Welcome to the world of Mercedes ownership. They have what you need... but at a much higher price.

Do you have a 2025 3500xd chassis? Some 2025 model year 24T's are built on 2024 model year Sprinter chassis' and some are built on 2025 model year Sprinter chassis????

You may try the various Facebook Groups for View/Navions. There's lots of specialized knowledge there.

And the Sprinter Forum at Sprinter-Source.com is also a good resource for this info.

There's a guy on Ebay that sells new-take-off Sprinter 3500 rims for $60 each with free shipping. Link...

I haven't bought anything from him yet, but he seems to be legit.

As a retired repair and service shop owner I have fixed literally hundreds of flat tires. I carry a tire repair kit and a compressor which allows me to fix almost any flat almost anywhere. Most times there is no need for jacking or tire removal. After the repair, the tire is re-inflatted and I’m back on the road, usually within 1/2 hour and coffee break.
It’s not rocket science!

Which repair kit do you carry? I keep one of these Home | Nealey Kool Tools in each vehicle. Never had to use one yet though.

I carry

Tooluxe 50002L -35 Piece Tire Repair Universal Heavy Duty Tire Repair Kit with Plugs, Fix A Flat Tire Repair Kit, Ideal for Tires on Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, ATV Roadside Emergency, Tire Plug Kit from Amazon

At $17.98 it’s cheap and effective and makes a permanent repair easily. For difficult to find leaks, a spray bottle of soapy water works great.

Do you run a TPMS that you have checked for accuracy? If you get a puncture and can stop quickly you can call Road Service and get the tire repaired, or have the road service mount and inflate the spare you carry. If you have a tire getting service to just mount your new tire should be faster and much less expensive than buying a tire.

No I don’t have TPMS. I do check all tire pressures before leaving home. Daytime air temperature also affects tire pressure so setting the tire pressure before driving is always a good idea. I keep an air compressor in my garage for this purpose.
Being able to fix a flat on the road is always faster and cheaper than waiting for some service to do what I can do myself.
