Ok , I've read until my head hurts on this subject. I have the battery disconnect I understand the procedure to go through before towing. I have modified my dolly ramps to clear the Smarts floors ect. I need to hear from someone who is or has towed front wheels up. It has been advised not too because of causing brake damage. I can't see how that would make a difference as you can tow them all four down without problems. Anyone towing with the fronts up? Thanks

I am assuming you have the 451 series Smart..I have not heard of any brake problems when towing..I would be more concerned with transmission troubles seeing as it is rear wheel drive..I dumped the dolly idea for a 3500Lb 2 wheel utility trailer with full width ramp..total weight of car plus trailer only reaches 2975 Lbs so it is well within the safety margin and it can be backed up easily..something you can't do with a dolly...the other advantage is only having 2 wheels instead of 4 on the ground...Disadvantage is storage requirements when not in use. Others in our RV winter site in Florida have towed their Smarts with 4 wheels down with no problems.
