We are long time campers but new to Winnebago and this forum. We recently purchased a lightly used 2023 2108TB and were planning our first outing with it beginning this Sunday afternoon. To give more room to work, my plan was to operate the slideout. It would not work on either 12v or 120v. It had worked fine several times in the last several weeks. Everything else (lights.awning, pump etc) is working fine. I checked the fuse and it was fine. The red light beside the fuse was not on and did not go on when I removed the fuse. When I pulled other fuses (or I blew one) a red light came on to indicate there was a problem. On the switch I had 15v from the feed to each of the other three wires. On the awning switch the only voltage was between the feed and the top wire. Voltage alternated on the other two poles depending which direction the switch was pressed. There was no action on the slideout switch. I am guessing this means the problem is somewhere ahead of the fuse panel. Any ideas on where to start looking would be greatly appreciated. Also, as far as I can tell, there is no way to move the slideout manually.

Welcome, we’re glad you found us.

I’m not sure if you have other 12v systems all working or not. I couldn’t tell from your comments. But there is a hidden master resettable fuse under the A-frame between the battery and the RV. With Winnebago toyables this can explain sudden electrical issues.

There are lots of posts and photos of this here. Here’s just one.

Note some have a reset button in the junction box and some have the button on the side of the red “fuse.” Search for more threads and photos.

It may not be your problem but it’s a good place to start. However, if everything works except the slide then it’s probably not that.

Thank you for the replies. As I said at the beginning, everything on the 12v side works but the slideout, so it apparently is not the reset button in the junction box. I plan to locate that so I will know what I am looking should the need arise.

Did to check the voltage across the panel switch with it closed? It should go to zero. If not it failed open. Pretty common on these cheap switches.
15v is high. Mine gets up to 14.7 when charging.
I am not an electrical expert at all. Just guessing.

Update. With some help from my electrician son, we quickly determined the wall switch was okay and functioning properly so the problem had to be further downstream..The Velocity Slide Controller was blinking a code which translated to "Hall PWR Short to Ground". He was able to jury rig a bypass so we could use the trailer until we got a replacement controller. The replacement arrived this afternoon and took about three minutes to connect and test. I have only cycled it a couple of times, but it appears to be working as it should. I still need to anchor it to the wall. The controller is located behind a small panel at the lower right corn of the slideout base and is relativrly easy to.

If/when you get around to looking at any connections under the trailer frame, it may be time to consider going a bit further to avoid some future troubles? Fix before, not after?
I don't keep track of which trailers but there are some which have what I call a pretty obvious problem built in.
One thing that we don't like is missing water with electronics!
Unfortunately, they put a lot of connections directly in the water from the road that sprays up as we drive!
Finding the little tiny rest is sometimes a problem and sometimes it is because it is small and other times it may be hidden under a pile of wires in a metal 4X4 box, so look close as the little resettable may be in the bottom of that box and well hidden!

But for my thinking, I like to head off trouble rather than deal with it on the road where it can really ruin the trip! If you find a group under the frame, consider the value of putting those connections in a box or cover to keep water out!
Lots of things have been suggested. Everything from cutting a soda bottle to press fit and up to going for a plastic box like used for fishing lures that have a snap on cover.
An item I use a lot is called No-OX-A special grease. It is meant for commercial use to seal things to hold corrosion down.
I use it on all my battery connections to reduce the work of cleaning connections!

The above is all good advice and I want to look into some way to further protect those under trailer connections. Fortunately, the slide controller is inside and reasonably easy to get to.
