sleep number bed

Our sleep number bed is not working. There are no numbers on the control and when pushed, nothing happens. We just purchased the coach March 28, 2005. Can someone help? I am assuming that we will need to contact Winnebago. Our dealer is now 9 hours away.

Have you checked the control unit battery? We had a similar problem and found the 9V battery was exhausted. Hope your problem is as easy to solve.

Questions for you.
1) Wireless remote?
2) Are you plugged in to shore power?

If you aren't 'plugged' in--or using the generator, it won't work.

(That's why we make sure it's at the number we want BEFORE we unplug from the house when we go on a trip!!)

Check to be sure it is still plugged into the electric outlet... ours is inder the bed and sometimes stored items can interfere with the plug.

Hope it is a simple fix...

Make sure you deflate the mattress if you are going thru the mountains or you may hear a large "POP."

Geee, I wish mine would fail so I would have a good reason to take it out and put in a regular mattress. The area of the air chamber does not seem to be where I sleep. I end up on the hard sides or the hard middle seperator. Vet Man

007, do you have a specific number that you depflate too? I was thinking "5" , with no one on the bed, would be OK.

Adjust it to less than 1/2 to be on the safe side, there should be a warning about this in papers received with instructions.

It is plugged in. Upon looking at the pump, there are black marks on the back of it and when lifted up, black marks underneath it. It has an odor that smells like it burned up. Have an appointment on Monday at dealer to see if it can be fixed or needs to be replaced.
