What is this? There is a hole on the side of my travel trailer below the bathroom that leads to a valve. It’s like the hole to lower a spare tire on a truck.

Dunno what the hole is that you show with a bushing???
Below the bathroom I have a pipe sticking thru with a valve that is a propane tap with QD fitting I use for my grill.
Mine has a rubber propane line behind it, you seem to show a metal pipe sticking down with a cap, maybe yours is a metal line, capped and unfinished from the factory?
Same model and year MM2108FBS

Looking at iron pipe makes me think, propane??? I think of drain or water suppply as only plastic!
Maybe there was prep for a propane connection to have an el and pipe to run to trailer side for grill use? Maybe that option not ordered on your specific trailer or it was removed for some reason?
When you mention a valve inside, does it seem to go to water or propane as a clue?

The rod with the nut welded on it is the manual drive to extend or retract the slide room. The hole is to allow you to use a long reach crank handle to turn the rod to move the slide room.
