Greetings, I have a 2017 Vista LX 27N and one of the jacks ( right rear ) most of the time will not go down. Occasionally, when I have tried to troubleshoot, it went down but then wouldn't retract. I was able to use a 2X4 to get it back up.
Seems like it's sticking either up or down. Any suggestions on things I could try to restore function? Could it be air in the line or something simple like that?
Lately I have just been using RV leveling blocks in the back to get it level at a campsite and then stabilizing the coach with the front jacks using the manual feature. It works but it kind of defeats the purpose of an auto leveling system.

:cry2: Naturally, it's one of the exclusions on my extended warranty.

TIA for suggestions.

The Vista uses a Lippert Level Up leveling jack system. There is a manifold with solenoid valves, 1 for each jack. The manifold also has a directional valve that is common to all 4 jacks that selects if the jacks are extended or retracted by hydraulic pressure. The manifold also has a common pressure switch.

So, the problem is probally specific to the leveling jack itself or to the valve associated with that jack in the manifold.

You can check the reservoir fluid level , but this would not effect only 1 jack.

You can try to reset the controller, but this is unlikely to fix it either, if the other 3 jacks are working normally.

You can check the connectors on the manifold (it's behind the front driver's side wheel) and see if the connector going to the solenoid is not well seated or if wiring to it got damaged.

You can inspect the jack and see if there is any indication of damage on the jack, but even if you find some there isn't going to be anything you can do about it yourself unless you have extensive skills working on hydraulic systems.

Good luck.

FYI, here is the Lippert recommendation for preventive maintenace on the Level Up system ...

1. Check fluid in reservoir every 12 months. If fluid is a clear, red color, do not change. If fluid is milky, pink and murky, and not clear red in color, drain reservoir and add new fluid. Use recommended fluid, see manual.

NOTE: OEM fluid is PetroBlend PHO022S, but Dexron 3 or Mercon 5 ATF fluid OK.
NOTE: Check fluid only when all jacks are fully retracted.
NOTE: When checking fluid level, fill to within ¼ to ½ inch of fill spout.

2. Inspect and clean all Power Unit electrical connections every 12 months. If corrosion is evident, spray unit with lubricant.

3. Remove dirt and road debris from jacks as needed.

4. If jacks are down for extended periods, it is recommended to spray exposed leveling jack rods with a silicone lubricant every three months for protection. If the coach is located in a salty environment, it is recommended to spray the rods every four to six weeks.

Self Leveling system

Thank you Randy, I'll have a look at all that. Any idea which solenoid is the right rear jack?
