Has anybody used sikaflex 219 to bond there fiberglass panels back to the metal frame I could also use the 3m panel adhesive but the sikaflex is cheaper just don’t want to try unless I know it will work

I have used their caulk #221 to seal the fiberglass seams, but never their adhesive. If the adhesive works like the caulk it should work. I know thats not answering you question however.

Are you trying to attach were it looks like you have tape on each side of the grill? It may not be the best but, I am a firm believer in the JB Weld product line. Might be something else to look into.

Yes it’s that back piece is completely off now and I cleaned all the original adhesive off and just looking to glue it back on the 3m is recommended but it’s such a small bottle at 57 dollars a pop when the sikaflex is 14 per tube ,

Only reason I was thinking sikaflex is because it actually stays flexible, just thinking maybe that might be a good thing

As an alternate thought and without knowing exactly where? If the metal is directly behind the two tape spots, what about solid fasteners like small screws or bolts? I tend to not like adhesives on things that jar around as much as an RV?
Lots of personal choice on what and how! I like bolts and loc-tite when I want it to stay and they make some nice shiny ones!! ;)

Yea I just bought some not gorilla glue but a different brand hopefully it works lol we will see

Yea that’s what I planned on doing I removed all the old adhesive which actually took the fiberglass down to strand so it should stick to that ok but I’m gonna buff out the metal a bit to rough it up before hand just in case

Sikaflex makes a great product. It probably has a greater elasticity than anything else. 3M has the best adhesion. I use a great deal of 4200 (moderate flexibility) for that very reason. I would be concerned about flexibility with some of the other suggestions. As previously mentioned if the surface is not rough and free of organics, nothing will work.

Had both front and rear caps off and found five brackets loose or detached use JB Weld on all and has been firmly attached for over a year now and we’ve been down a bunch of really rough roads 20k miles and still very solid!
