Yes, it can be a very smooth ride and very quiet if your on a smooth road, but she makes a lot of noise when the surface is rough. I do have the tire psi set at 100/105.
Wind stability is pretty good. I've been across i80 a couple of times now through Wy, NE, where the winds are high and it handles it well.
Ca Hwy 20 from grass valley to Yuba city was quite the challenge. I probably won't go that way again. I normally take 299 from Redding to Eureka, but i wanted to test the waters on that portion of hwy 20 ive never been on.
I'm towing a 4 door wrangler and I find 70 mph is the ideal speed. Good fuel mileage and with the cruise set it negotiates hills pretty good. Maintains 55 mph on most grades, but there were a few grades where I was in 3rd gear doing 35-40 mph, but Zero high Temps on coolant , oil, and transmission . So I'm pretty happy with that. It also hasn't burned any oil.
I wish the actual Winnebago portion of the bus was put together better though. Yesterday a window valance and shades separated from the wall due to rough roads and vibration. There were 2 wood screws holding it up in the particle board the pulled through. I just re- attached it in a the same matter but new holes. We've had lots of problems with the coach part and the dealership is really bad. Everything they touch adds more problems. I think most of the flaws will be ironed out but it's painful to go through.
Again I can't emphasize how well the Freightliner Chasis has performed.
Will be in Eureka CA this afternoon and will be stationary for 6 weeks. Plenty of time to go over all the loose screws and whatnot.
