Hi to all! After researching for days, lots of choices, but also, lots of good and bad reviews. Heading to the Outer Banks in August. Looking for nice camping in close proximity to catching the ferry to explore. Would love pavers or concrete site. We would prefer not to camp on one of the Outer Banks (like Hatteras), but rather inland about 15-25 miles to ferry terminals. If you have any experience in the area, I would appreciate any feedback!! We have an Aspect 31J and tow an Intec 20' enclosed trailer.

Do you like heat? Humidity? Wind? If so you'll love the Outer Banks in August. I've been 4 times, but it was 50+ years ago so I can't help you find a site. But even 50 years later I remember the heat. The Humidity and the ever present wind. There's a reason the Wright Bros chose that location. Constant (maddening) wind.

Thank you for your input! We live on the coast so always have heat and humidity! Ha! I'm looking for a place that has a good location to ferry and a bit of shade!

After reading a lot of reviews and such, I currently have reservations for the OBX campground in Kill Devil Hills. Seems to be the most centrally located. We'll be there in mid-July.
