RV Fuel Vault Locking Door for 2018 Sunstar 32YE

Howdy,

I was searching for a locking gas cap for our Sunstar and came across this. Has anyone installed one of these and if so how do you like it? It's supposed to bolt directly into the original fuel filler location replacing the original part.

My 2012 Itasca Suncruiser 37F has a fuel door. I replaced the simple turn lock with a file cabnet key lock.

Was the original lock flimsy ??

The original wasn't really a lock. It was more like a lever. (No lock mechanism or key.)

It looks like these models have those "barrel" type key locks in one photo, and regular key locks in another photo. I may send off an email asking which type they use.

Anyways, I might get one since I think I may have lost a few gallons of gas last week, and the factory fuel filler is looking a bit ragged these days.

I did an inquiry on the website asking about the lock type and received a very fast response. I received a phone call and talked to the guy who makes them, he's an RVer too.

Anyway they ship with the barrel type lock and are in stock.

Back during the 1970s gasoline crisis, I went outside in the morning and saw a 5 foot section cut out of my garden hose. My fist thought was darn vandal kids. Then I got in me truck and the gas was near empty. As I backed out of the driveway, I saw that the 5 foot section had been discarded under the truck. I've locked up fuel tanks ever since.
